Detour...

Detour

Sometimes there is a need to take a detour when the road you are on becomes mottled with potholes and therefore, in need of repair. Working a nine-to-five that includes more than 40 hours of work each week can really take a toll. And being a single mom can also take its bit out of you. Mind you, I love being a mom. I have great children. Just sometimes, I wish all I had to do was wake up and create.

My creative path has become a journey with stops and starts, bumps and slippery conditions. My goal right now is to figure out how to get through the treacherous road conditions!

Adding to the stress, is the pressure to constantly come up with new designs. I enjoy sitting at my workbench and creating something from this and that. But sometimes when there is so much going on, it's very difficult to to get to that point where the ideas flow.

I am on vacation this week and it's easier to see what needs to be done. Some things I've mentioned before...de-clutter, clean, get organized! I'd also like to get to the yoga studio, meditate, and pray more.

I want to get to the point where my life is unfettered by the stresses of living in our world.

A simple life...where less is more.
